The new generation of Eurocodes is on the way. Eurocode 3: Steel Structures – Part 1-1 is already out, but will not be implemented in the Danish Building Regulations until there is an associated national annex. This course will give the participants an early insight and walkthrough of the changes that will derive for the design of steel structures. It is a prerequisite that the participants already have a knowledge of the first generation of Eurocodes for steel structures, either from a contractor, fabricator or a consulting engineer perspective.
Going through the main changes of DS/EN 1993-1-1:2022 compared to the previous editions with focus on calculation methods. The course will shorty describe the content of the concerned Eurocode and explain the interface with other standards. After this, there will primarily be a focus on the changes that will impact the design work of the participants. Examples will also be provided. Course material will be provided in English as well as the presentation.

CONTENTS
- Basis of Design
- New methods for structural analysis and summarizing flowchart.
- Effects of torsion on the resistance of cross-sections and members.
- Verification of beams subject to lateral torsional buckling.
- Design of uniform members with mono- symmetric cross-sections.
- Walkthrough of the national annex if pro- vided at the time of the course.
- An overview of remaining changes.
TEACHERS
Thomas Hansen, Lead Expert, Steel Structures, NIRAS, has a deep knowlegde in steel construction and is an experienced teacher
Claus Foldager Bay Jensen, Structural Engineer, Rambøll, has steel structures as his primary subject of expertise and multiple years of experience within the field.
